Our working group’s research interests consists of deciphering the role of newly born neurons in the process of epileptogenesis. During this process, following an injury, trauma or major inflammation, a normal brain becomes chronically epileptic through multiple mechanisms of neuronal plasticity that remain largely unknown. To accomplish this, we use multiple techniques, including patch clamp recordings in vitro, in vivo recordings and genetically encoded fluorescent voltage sensors.
