In the Institute for Neurovascular Cell Biology research is focused on understanding the organ specific properties of the vasculature in the central nervous system, how it forms and acquires the specific features. We are also interested in studying how neural cells and blood vessels communicate with each other in order to build highly precise functional networks. Research on how vascular dysfunction and impaired cross-talk with the neural parenchyma can contribute to neurological disorders is another focus of our institute.
