We are delighted to invite you to the festive presentation of the “Hartwig Piepenbrock DZNE Prize” to Prof. Alison Goate, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (New York City, USA), which will take place this year on December 4 at 6:30 p.m. in DZNE Lecture Hall in Bonn. The evening will be hosted by TV and radio journalist Sabine Heinrich. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Tobias Hoffmann Trio, winner of, among others, the WDR Jazz Prize and the ECHO Jazz. Following the award ceremony, we will host a light reception.
Every two years the 60,000 Euro award, donated by the Piepenbrock Group in memory of its late managing partner, recognizes outstanding research on neurodegenerative diseases.
The British neuroscientist Alison Goate has provided decisive impetus in the fields of Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia: Together with colleagues, she has discovered a number of several gene variants that can actually cause the diseases or greatly increase the risk of developing them. Her research has laid important foundations for the development of innovative therapies.
Admission to the event is from 6:00 pm at the DZNE Building, Venusberg-Campus 1/99 in Bonn.
We would be delighted to welcome you at the prize award and would kindly ask you to register online at this link: www.dzne.de/piepenbrockpreis.
