In the lecture of the two scientists Patrick Weydt and Bernhard Landwehrmeyer, the link between World Alzheimer’s Day and Huntington’s disease as a hereditary cause of dementia will be made and the enormous potential for understanding genetic diseases and making them treatable will be explained (Lecture in German).
Woody Guthrie died of Huntington’s disease in 1967. His daughter Nora is committed to researching and treating the disease. In her lecture, she provides insights into her father’s life and her own involvement in the fight against the deadly disease. (Lecture in English)
Afterwards, there will be a concert by and with Wenzel, who will present Woody Guthrie texts and songs that he has translated into German, as well as a selection of his own works (www.wenzel-im-netz.de ).
